1938 Amusement Park Erector Set By A.C. Gilbert (eBay Classifieds) $500 ...more
The set is identified as a 10 1/2 by the inside lid label. It has been inventoried according to a list supplied by the AC Gilbert Heritage Society (acghs.org.) It contains 4 parachutes with white silk, 6 red backed horses for the carousel and it is complete to the last screw. The cardboard box for the workman's shanty is a reproduction. The A47 motor is a 1952 style. Its electric cord is pliable, has been tested and it works. There is no rust anywhere. The manual has been used but just barely. It contains 49 two sided pages plus covers. It is dated correctly and shows the proper parts for the set. It shows items that can be built with up to an 10 1/2 set. There are minimal dog eared pages. The bottom tray would have been cardboard when it came from the factory. I have assembled MN base plates from other long departed sets to make a tray that should survive another 60 years, while keeping the same display arrangement.

This antique, homemade frame was built in the 1940’s. The colored glass and leaded parts are even older. Hand made glass has various molded patters and colors suspended in place w/a leaded bead. (one small red section of glass on the bottom has cracks in it). The main value is in the glass art. This antique work of art measures aprox 20” by 26” x1 1/2 . It was converted to be hung on the wall like a mirror or placed in a window as an over lay for the sun to spectrum thru. Cash only You haul/
