I have my 2002 Specialized Hard Rock for sale. I am selling it because I bought a downhill bike and no long do cross country rides. A 2008 model small or 16inch frame in good used condition. Was bought new and used sparingly as an XC rig and then served as a commuter for the last year. No dents, most of the wear is either cable rub or small nicks from regular use. An excellent start to any 29er build.
Comes with 2 blue KM forks, the original one is cleaner, but it's cut at 6 inches leaving only enough above the headset for a small spacer and stem. The second, blue fork I bought used and it has around 7 3/4 inch steer leaving "normal" adjustability above and below stem. That fork has a little surface rust on the outside of the steer tube, but none on the inside. Along with two KM forks, you also get a 2011 Kona P2 fork with exactly the same axle to crown height as the Surly's, 468mm. Not as burly at the upper legs, but it's got fender mounts so it makes a great commuter fork(that's the way I used it). That fork has 8 inches of steer tube and is very clean. Last, but not least is an FSA Orbit XLII cartridge bearing headset. The crown races are easy to buy aftermarket if you want to switch forks. The frame also comes with the Problem Solvers cable guides that allow you to run an hydraulic rear brake line or an uninterrupted mechanical brake line and a basic sea post clamp.
