This sought after unit is the manual control type not electronic control which has the advantage of not being dependent on the function of the electronic controls as they tend to fail rendering an otherwise intact unit inoperable even though the heating element and all other components are fine.
This is a long lasting durable model made in the USA by a reputable and accessible company, Kerr Labs that has been in business for many years manufacturing tools for the jewelry and dental industries.
It has been used up only twice and used to pour sterling silver in the current crucible. Crucibles are easily purchsed for other metals.

On canvas 32" x 46", Framed by the artist. Purchased in 1999, in perfect condition. Amazing, lifelike depiction of the Zuni Long-Hair Kachinas coming into the Plaza accompanied by the Koshares, under a rain-filled sky.
Duane Dishta was born in Zuni, New Mexico in 1946, and has always lived there. Duane's father, Frankie, is Zuni and his mother, Elizabeth is three-quarter Zuni and one-quarter Hopi. Duane and his wife, Margie, have relatives in Polacca, Arizona on the Hopi reservation, where they often attend Hopi dances. Duane also takes part in the Zuni ceremonies every year. He was originally inspired to paint by the a work of two Hopi painters, Raymond Naha & Neil David. As a consequence, his paintings always reflect Hopi and Zuni life.
Duane is probably the best-known artist in Zuni. His paintings appeared in Barton Wright's book "Kachinas of the Zuni" which depicts 139 Kachinas and other dancers. Duane outlined figures with colored markers, erased the outlines, and painted the inside with watercolors. He painted them in the wintertime when there were no ceremonies taking place. Duane was also
one of the featured artists in the book "Zuni, the Art and the People", Vol 2.
In the 1970's jewelry was so popular that Duane stopped painting and began making jewelry. This lasted until the 1980's when he returned to his first
love, painting. He originally used casein but switched to acrylics because he likes the colors and the fast-drying properties.
Duane had won awards at the Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial in Gallup, N.M.; at the Heard Museum show in Phoenix, Arizona; and at the American Indian and Western Relic show in Pasadena, CA." There won't be any more of these.
