6x10 utility trailer, can further customize if desired (Independence) $999  ...more
Custom made 6X10 utility trailer from an old pop-up camper. I made this 2 summers ago. The frame has been reinforced with extra angle iron which I can show you if you come look at it. The trailer deck is made from green treated deck boards and held in place with stainless steel carriage bolts and nuts. The axle has new stainless steel U bolts as well. I made a new hitch for it as well and the wiring actually comes out from under the middle of the hitch - you'll have to see it. I also made light guards for it. The top of the wheel wells is particle board and is not green treated, but its been just fine so I haven't bothered buying the wood for it. All the boards are easily removable, including the wheel wells and can be easily replaced if damaged - I wanted to build it that way. The back board panel simply slides up out of the 2x2 tubes that I cut one side out of, see the pic and you will understand. I simply secured the top board by drilling a hole and putting a screw through it on each side. It does have one jack stand on it, on the, well it would be the drivers side (see pic.) The passenger side one got bent and damaged and I had to remove it and was unable to straighten it back out. This trailer has been all the way to Nebraska and back and pulled great. I helped clean up trees during the wind storm this past summer and hauled a bunch of huge logs on this as well. I moved to Waterloo this fall and used it to move everything. The trailer pulls really well and I trust it for anything. The axle is rated at 2,000 lbs. Obviously its not a full 6X10 though. The front part of the trailer measures 6ft 4 in wide and 4ft 6 in to the front of the wheel wells. In between the wheel wells measures 3ft 11 in and the wheel wells are 2 ft 4 in long. At the back of the trailer the measurements are 2 ft 8 in from the back of the wheel well to the back board panel and its also 4 ft 6 in wide just like the front. Now not compensating for the sides and back board panel the deck boards are actually 10 ft long. I welded four 1/4in steel circles on the sides to use as tie down anchors. You really just have to come see the trailer to see what all has been done. I am very proud of it and hate to part with it, it has a lot of sentimental value as my son, who was 3 1/2 at the time, helped me build it - he hammered in the stainless steel bolts through the boards :) but times are tough and I need the money. I would be willing to modify the trailer, within my abilities, if you would like. Please ask any questions. The trailer is located in Independence.

Heres my son helping me build it.
